I have been baking for as long as I can remember. I have always been the one to make all of my families birthday cakes. I have also been very in to arts and crafts through out my life.
In 2005 my daughter asked me to make her wedding cake. I was a little intimidated because I had never done anything like that before but I gave it a go and it came out beautifully. Also about that time my husband retired from the army and we settled near his family. I started giving them cakes for their birthdays. My sister-in-laws encouraged me to start selling my cakes.
So early in 2006 I started Laura's Cakes. It has worked out great for me. I can be a stay at home mom to our adopted children and our foster children and combine my love for baking with my love for arts and crafts.
Every cake is prepared by me in my kitchen. I love a challenge so I encourage my customers to just give me a theme and let me go with it. I can also copy most designs so for those that aren't to sure, if you have an idea or have seen something let me know.
