There is a lot of debate over the taste of fondant. It is one of those things you either love or hate. However, the over all appeal is that it looks the best. If you are wanting the highest quality, and sleekest looking cake go with fondant. I normally put a good layer of butter cream under the fondant so for those that don't likefondant it is easy to peal off and you are left with delicious buttercream.
